Automobile Accidents

with one comment

Why do automobile accidents happen?

More and more laws are passed to regulate automobile traffic.  But accidents continue to happen.  What can be done?

The answer is simple.  People think they are much better drivers than they are.  Peoples’ driving skills are average to poor.  They are over confident in their abilities. Their driving greatly exceeds their abilities.

Everybody that reads this will think:  that is not me.  WRONG!  It is you.  And everybody else.

Traffic accidents would be greatly reduce if drivers had a better attitude.

The major issues are all symptoms of me first no matter what, and to hell with everybody else.

They should do things like; expect to have an accident, expect other drivers to be careless, realize that they are not expert drivers.

Politics Meets the Press

leave a comment »

Every Sunday morning, there are the various political shows.  These maybe panel shows and/or reporting shows.  Some televise a speech by the president and then one from somebody in the other political party.

These programs entertain the masses while encouraging the foolish.  The programs do not improve the nation.  They do not help to solve the nation’s problems.  Another case of the media inflicting its silliness on the citizens.  The media is rousing people through made up controversy.

Stop watching this trash.  It does not benefit you or the country.

Government Decision Making

leave a comment »

Government decisions at all level have a major impact on individual lives.  Some people like the government to make the decision that affect our lives.  They believe in the government and that what it does is good for them.

Government decisions are made by individuals who are stupid and incompetent, and/or looking for personal gain.  Many of the problems in the world are caused by decisions made by government. The government does more harm than good.

Why do citizens continue to allow the government to make decisions that are wrong and usually not in their best interest?  Many times, it is something that government should not be involved in.

It is simple.  Most people are stupid and lazy:  stupid in thinking the government will do what is best for them; lazy in that they do not want to think for themselves.  Maybe they are so scared of having to be responsible for their own lives.

Government is about power and control.

Just think how it would be if the system automatically provided minimum control over people while letting them retain power over their own lives.

How many people want to run their own lives?

The Huffington Post

with 20 comments

The Huffington Post is a blog according to various blog rating and ranking sites.  It looks like an online newspaper.  It does not look like a blog.  It looks very similar to the websites of newspapers and other media.  It should be in the media group not the blog.

It is not really a blog.

Why do so many people read The Huffington Post?  It is no different than the CNN or Reuters websites, except they do a better job.  Also it is a very biased site that puts out entertainment instead of news.

So, why do so many people read it?

Intelligent and concerned citizens should be reading something better.

Media Bias

leave a comment »

The media in the United States is completely biased.

The media is either totally liberal or totally conservative.  The media no longer cares about truth, the facts, or investigative journalism.  The media is just an extension of ideological factions.  It just pushes ideology.  To do this, the media will lie, be one-sided, and publish only items that will promote their agenda.

The press, or fourth estate as it was called,  used to be independent.  It was free from influence.  It was a source of the facts, with objective analysis and commentary.  It main purpose was to contain government power and keep the government honest.

Today, the fourth estate is dead.  It has been replaced by propaganda machines.

What should intelligent people do?

Ignore most of the media’s output.  Look only for issues.  Find other sources of facts, analysis and commentary.

Cookies are not software. They cannot be programmed, cannot carry viruses, and cannot install malware on the host computer .[2] However, they can be used by spyware to track user’s browsing activities – a major privacy concern that prompted European and US law makers to take action.[3] [4] Cookies can also be stolen by hackers to gain access to a victim’s web account.[5]

These cookies are out of control.  There is little if any good associated with cookies for internet users.  This is plainly evident from the definition above.  Cookies only benefit websites, not browsers. Cookies are an invasion of privacy.

It is time for cookies to be strictly regulated.

NO website should force individuals to accept cookies.  Rejection of cookies should not prevent the individual from completely using the website.  A double opt-in system should be used.

The government should take this action now.

More and more websites are collecting unnecessary personal information for their personal use without permission from individuals.

As the government will not take action, it is time for individuals to do so.

Here is what to do:

Adjust your firewall and browsers to not accept cookies.  Only allow cookies from sites when absolutely necessary.  Set your browser to delete all cookies when the browser is closed at the end of a web session.

The more individuals reject cookies, the more websites will not use cookies.

Collective individual action works.

Poverty in America

leave a comment »

The latest statistics report that the number of Americans living in poverty has increased to a record percentage.

The United States has always had a high poverty rate compared to other countries.  Even in comparatively good economic times, the poverty rate is still about 11%.

Why is the poverty rate so high?

Part is due to the state of the US economy.  Part of it is due to structure of the US economy.

Why is the US poverty rate higher than other developed countries?

Part of this is due to the differences in the statistical methodology to measure poverty in each country.  And, part is due the differences in the structures of each countries’ economies.

From the above, most people would say that the structure of the US country should be changed.

This is a snap judgment, also one that is incorrect.

But even if it was a correct, how should the structure be changed?

No one seems to know, but people keep wanting the United States to change to a socialist economy.

Socialism has never worked.  It will not work in the United States.  So forget about a socialist economy.

Additional information:  Approximately the same number of people are without health insurance in the United States.

This is not a poverty issue, but just another piece of the economic problem effecting both United States and the rest of the world.
