The Business of America Is Business

The Business of America Is Business is the most famous misquote of Calvin Coolidge’s.

The real statement comes from a speech by Calvin Coolidge called “The Press Under a Free Government” which was given before the American Society of Newspaper Editors in Washington, D.C. on January 17, 1925. The quote is really: “After all, the chief business of the American people is business.

This is something that people have both forgotten and hate.

The hatred is based upon their stupidity and weakness, and refusal to accept the truth.

The fact is that business is what has made the United States great.  All the goods and services that once were luxuries and are now taken for granted came from business.  The inventions and their availability to the general public came from business.

The peoples’ stupidity is that they do not understand economics and the way the world works.

The weakness is their refusal to accept their incompetence in the economic world.

America’s problems can be solved by business not by government.  Business can propel America to even greater heights.

No hate mail necessary.

The facts no one wants to read.
