College Basketball Thuggery

leave a comment »

Too many thugs playing college basketball; referees are failures, sport is deteriorating.

College basketball referees do not know the rules or refuse to enforce them.  As a result college basketball has become a contact sport.

Every activity has rules and the rule should be enforced; all the rules all the time.

Television commentators describe teams as aggressive, scrappy, or physical.  The translation is that the team is a “fouler”.  They do not play by the rules, but push, shove, grab, hit and make physical contact.

An example from Sunday:  Creighton versus North Carolina

1)  Creighton’s Gregory Echenique knocked North Carolina player Tyler Zeller; no call.

2)  Various Creighton players were trying to hit North Carolina’s John Henson’s injured wrist.  This continued even after another North Carolina player spoke to a referee.

3)  A hard foul by Creighton’s Ethan Wragge on Kendal Marshall, breaking a bone in this wrist.

Basketball is not supposed to be NHL Hockey.

The appropriate referee responses should have been in each case: 1) call the foul; 2)  call the foul and warn the Creighton team, next occurrence would call for a foul, technical foul and an ejection; 3) foul, technical foul and ejection.

The NCAA should then apply sanctions to Creighton of no post season play for the university or any player for 3 years;  reason, a pattern of dirty play.

This may seem harsh, but look at it from the view points of the North Carolina players: trying to deliberately injure a player and then injuring a player on a team with a high probability of reaching the finals.  Also, a message needs to be sent that physical play will not be tolerated, even if it cost a team the game.

The attitude of letting them play needs to be wiped out.  If a team cannot play without fouling, then call fouls even if all starters foul out and they lose by a 100.

If it was up to us, teams that consistently play a physical game would be banned from post season play, forfeit all television money and coaches would be banned for life.

Injuring players is totally uncalled for, especially deliberately.

Remember how the referees protected Kareem when he was a UCLA.  It should be that way for all players.

Stupid Blog Commenters

leave a comment »

Blogs are great; they give everyone a voice.

But, and it is a large but.  Most blogs and the resulting comments are both just plain ignorant.  The blogs and comments lack both logic and analysis.

Most of these people whine, cry and rant.  Their writings lack intelligence.

Instead of intelligent dialogue that helps to solve problems and improve the world, readers are treated to envy, hate and jealousy from the ignorant.

So useless and so sad.

“Inequality” is getting a lot of space in the media.

This is “inequality’ of income and wealth.

This is stupid.

Bunch of whining and crying losers.

No one is entitled to a certain amount of income or wealth.  People will always have different levels of income and wealth.

What is really happening is that lazy freeloaders are being cut off.  This is a good thing.  The days of just coasting along and being middle class are coming to an end.

Time to make smart choices and work hard or be poor.

People get what they deserve.

Iran is a reoccurring topic in the news, especially Iran nuclear weapons program.

Let’s recap the facts.

Iran wants to be THE power in the middle east with some say in world affairs.  Iran is using its military to bully other middle east nations.  Iran supports terrorism worldwide through support for various terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah and radical factions in muslim nations.  Iran supports the current Syrian regime.  Iran has targeted Israel for total destruction.  Iran is developing nuclear weapons.

Resulting Conclusions.

Iran will get nuclear weapons.  Iran will use nuclear weapons.  Iran will attempt to totally destroy Israel.  Iran will militarily terrorize its neighbors and the rest of the world.  Iran needs to be stopped.

Necessary Actions.

Push sanctions to the limit, no matter the harm to the Iranian people.  Tell Iran:  terminate all nuclear weapon activity and open up for full and total inspection or face the consequences.  Tell the Iranian people the same thing.  If Iran does not comply, the world quickly and totally destroys Iran.  Afterwards, no aid of any kind to Iran.

False Concerns.

Harm to the Iranian people: their government, their problem, their fault; the war will cause Iran to continue nuclear weapons development: not if the nation is totally destroyed; oil supplies will be disrupted: only for a very short time; cost in lives: very few as there will be no ground forces involved, Iran is not being conquered, but destroyed; possible arab uprising, Iranians are not arabs.

A major blow to terrorism, loss of support for the current Syrian regime, major show of support for US allies in the middle east; and most important, it shows the world that the United States will act decisively and forcefully.

Recent Issue: Religion and Contraception

leave a comment »

This is a topic that has sparked a lot of media and blog attention.

Religion and contraception are separate issues.

There is freedom of religion; the right to practice your religion free from government interference.

Then there is contraception and the related issue of who pays for it.

Nothing the government is proposing interferes with your freedom of religion.

The decision to use or not to use contraception is an individual choice of a woman and her partner.

This leaves who should pay for the contraception.

Contraception use is NOT a health issue.  If a woman does not use contraception, her health is not put in danger.  This means that health insurance providers should not be forced to pay for contraception; nor should health care providers be forced to provide contraception.

If a woman and her partner decide to use contraception, then they can pay for it.

People That Read and Comment on Blogs Are Stupid

leave a comment »

Not all of them, but surely most of them.

As part of maintain numerous blogs, it is necessary to read other blogs and make comments.  It is generally observed that most bloggers and commenters do no analysis. They spew forth hate and stupidity in pushing their ideology, whining and crying or just plain ranting.  These individuals travel in herds and act like lemmings; none of them think for themselves.

None of these people have herd the old joke:  When accused of being stupid, people can keep their mouth shut or open them and prove the accuser right.

Would these people have mercy on the world and learn to keep their stupidity to themselves.

Yes, everybody is allowed to have their own opinions.  And censorship is evil.

These people are not solving any problems or accomplishing anything except confusing everybody.

So, ask questions, read, think, study and learn and write little as most of you have nothing to contribute.
