College Basketball — Referees and Big Men

with 2 comments

Most big men in college basketball are not very good.  If they were not tall, most of them would not be playing; few can shoot well except under the basket, almost none can dribble and most cannot pass.

What these big men can do is push, shove, trample, travel and violate the 5 second rule.  Teams built around these clumps of flesh are not really good except for the cheating advantage of their big men.

Few referees call these violations on them.  Most big men should foul out while playing less than 10 minutes a game.

Fans/viewers and advertisers would go mad if oak tree was called for 3 fouls in the first minute, went to the bench until the second half and then filed out within the first few minutes of the second half.

Wake up people, college basketball is no longer a sport; it is a selling machine to take money out of YOUR pocket.

If you really want to watch basketball, go to community and junior college games.  You can see some good basketball for free or a few dollars without the ugliness of college basketball.

The facts no one wants to read.

Comments and referrals to this blog would be greatly appreciated.
