Iran Says It Is Ready for “Straight Talks” with Saudi Arabia

Iran said on Tuesday it was ready for “straight talks” with Saudi Arabia over contentious issues that have kept the rival Gulf powers at loggerheads for more than three decades.

Admiral Ali Shamkhani, a top security aide to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said his country “is now quite ready to for straight, clear and continuous talks spanning the whole range of mutual interests with Saudi Arabia.”

Classic rogue state maneuver:  Let’s have talks so you can make concessions.

Since Iran want talks, it wants concessions.

Saudi Arabia should:

—  know Iran is their enemy

—  know Iran is a rogue state

—  rogue states are not to be trusted

—  know Iran will not abide by any agreements made

—  tell Iran to make concession if it wants talk

Concessions must be made before the talks can go forward.

Suggested concessions should be the total withdrawal of support of organizations/groups in other countries.  An exception could be made for groups fighting ISIS but not for any group supporting al-Assad or for Hezbollah.

No concessions(from Iran); NO talks.

Concessions(with proof); then talks.

At talks, Saudi Arabia makes absolutely no concessions or agreements with Iran.

Saudi Arabia stalls during talks.

At end of talks, Saudi Arabia tells Iran; it must make more concessions so talks can continue.

Saudi Arabia would be playing Iran.

Not going to happen; Iran is determined to get concessions.

So, Saudi Arabia draws the line in the sand;  no concessions, no talks.

The facts no one wants to read.

Comments and referrals to this blog would be greatly appreciated.C
