Do not believe anything a politician tells you. It’s in their interest to tell you what you want to hear, and that can be a wide margin away from reality and most likely is.

Be doubly skeptical about threats that require further increases in government spending.

Do not fall in love with bloggers. Anyone who can write reasonably well can now project themselves into the public discourse. People who can actually think, on the other hand, are another thing altogether. Learn to tell the difference.

Follow the money. If someone, or some company, tells you something the solution to which directly or indirectly benefits them, be cautious. That’s not to say that a company that offers products or services that solve various real problems won’t be truthful and genuinely helpful. But when you read something by some guy ranting against gold ETFs and then find out the guy’s a coin dealer, an extra dosage of salt in your diet is required.

Find trusted sources, but even then keep your skeptic’s hat close at hand. In the face of the onslaught of information – true or otherwise – there are opportunities for honest and impartial hard research to help others get to the facts. But that does not mean you should not continue to question them at every turn.

While we believe we will are interested in your welfare, that does not mean that somewhere along the way we cannot slip up or just get something terribly wrong.

In the final analysis, it’s your life and your money – and that means you have the most to lose by picking the wrong path forward.

Those are just a few thoughts.

Attacks on Freedom of Speech Continue

leave a comment »

Around the world, the attacks on Freedom of Speech continue.

More and more nations are restricting free speech with the internet being a prime target.

Some instances of this evil:

—  “We now have a court order. We’ll eradicate Twitter. I don’t care what the international community says. Everyone will witness the power of the Turkish Republic,” Prime Minister of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan.

—  Iran implemented a widespread crackdown on the Internet.

—  China has censored information for years.

—  Russia made Facebook take down content that was critical of Putin last year.

—  President of Ecuador established a special unit to trackdown “lies about him” on the internet and remove them.

—  Now u-bam-a want the FCC to re-classify the internet as a public utility.  This control of the internet means a limitation of free speech.

The internet is the greatest threat to tyrannical governments in the world today. Autocrats like Putin do not want a free and open internet. They want a “small I” internet that runs more like their own personal intranet that they can control.

The United States is one of these tyrannical governments.

These governments are EVIL.

Governments have greatly limited freedom of speech.

No one should be allowed to tell anyone what they can and cannot say; especially governments.

Everyone must fight for freedom of speech or it will cease to exist.

Start fighting back today.

Assistance is available.

Commenting on Blogs

leave a comment »

In response to a comment made on another blog, the responder accused this blogger of name-calling and bias.

This is totally untrue.

Our blogs and comments are about truth and fairness/justice/equality.  Most people will disagree with what we write.  Why?  Because we do not take sides nor do we have any ideology.

So, accusing us of bias and name-calling is really someone telling the truth about themselves.

Comments to Blogs

with 2 comments

Most blog owners moderate comments to their blogs.  This is their right as it is their blog.  Also, it keeps unacceptable, inappropriate, and unrelated comments from appearing on the blogs.

But how many blog owners are practicing censorship.  Why?  They are not publishing any comments they disagree with.

They are pushing their ideologies even if the ideology is evil, wrong, bad, unworkable, etc.  All they care about is putting their thoughts out there.

This is their right.

What value do these blogs have for anybody else?

None, unless the reader holds the same opinions.

The world is improved by dialogues that promote the exchange of ideas.

A fair, just and good person realizes that his opinions and ideas might not have the value he puts in them.

So, lets limit censorship?
